A driver will report an accident to the accident controller who will take all of the incident details and make the necessary arrangements for the vehicle to be recovered if not driveable. Arrangements will then be made for onward travel support and/ or a replacement vehicle to be provided. If the vehicle is driveable a suitable time will be agreed with the driver in order that the vehicle can be inspected and an estimate for repair can be completed. In either situation the driver is sent a claim form for their completion which must be completed and returned as priority. All information entered on to the accident claim form must be done so clearly, accurately and with as much detail as possible, this information is critical to support the claim process and in-particular the recovery of costs on non-fault accidents.
The accident controller will process all necessary documentation to comply with the customer’s individual insurance company requirements whilst progressing the status of repair on a periodic basis. Carillion Fleet Management contract the expert services of a loss adjuster who will vet all estimates, analyse damage images, validate repair time estimates alongside recommended times for part/ paint delivery and pricing. To support the quality/ cost control audit processes we have in place with our repair network, Carillion Fleet Management may instruct an independent engineer to carry out a physical inspection of the vehicle post estimate, prior to repair.
Upon completion of the accident repair, the driver will be contacted to organise the delivery of the vehicle back to his/ her preferred location and to also arrange collection of the replacement vehicle where appropriate.
All types of damage regardless of circumstances and severity MUST be reported to Carillion Fleet Management without delay. Please call 0845 12 82 999 (option 2 then 1) for assistance and/ or logged the incident via the Accident Fleet Support app.
